Privacy Policy
Last updated: July 5, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how Buffalo Coast Media (“we,” “us,” or “the Company”) collects, uses, and protects information when you visit thefinancetech.com (the “Site”). By using the Site, you agree to the practices described here.
Information we collect
We collect two kinds of information:
- Information you give us, such as your name and email address when you subscribe to our newsletter or send us a message.
- Information collected automatically, such as your IP address, browser type, device, the pages you view, and how you arrived at the Site. We gather this through cookies and similar technologies.
How we use your information
- To send our newsletter and respond to your messages.
- To understand how visitors use the Site so we can improve it.
- To keep the Site secure and prevent abuse.
Cookies
Cookies are small files stored on your device. We use them to remember your preferences and to measure traffic with analytics tools, including Google Analytics. You can turn off cookies in your browser settings, though some parts of the Site may not work as well if you do.
Advertising
We plan to show ads on the Site through Google AdSense. We do not currently serve ads. Once ads are live, third-party vendors, including Google, will use advertising cookies to show you ads based on your past visits to this Site and other websites. Google’s use of advertising cookies lets Google and its partners serve ads to you based on the sites you have visited.
You can opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings. You can also opt out of many other third-party advertising cookies at aboutads.info/choices.
If you visit from the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or Switzerland, you will see a consent message before any advertising cookies are set, and you can say no.
We also work with Pinterest to measure how people arrive at the Site from Pinterest and how our Pinterest presence performs. Pinterest collects information such as your IP address, device information, and the pages you visit here. You can learn more in Pinterest’s privacy policy and opt out of Pinterest’s personalized ads in your Pinterest settings.
Service providers
We share data with companies that help us run the Site, such as our web host, Kit (the service that delivers our newsletter), and our analytics provider. These companies process your data on our behalf. We do not sell your personal information for money. Some of the advertising and measurement cookies described above may count as “sharing” personal information under California law, and you can opt out of that on our Your Privacy Choices page.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to see, correct, or delete the personal data we hold about you, and to opt out of marketing email. To make a request, email us at hello@buffalocoastmedia.com. Residents of the European Union have specific rights under the GDPR, and residents of California have the rights described in the next section. We honor them.
Your California privacy rights
If you live in California, the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA, as amended by the CPRA) gives you these rights:
- Right to know — you can ask what personal information we have collected about you, where it came from, and how we use it.
- Right to delete — you can ask us to delete the personal information we hold about you.
- Right to correct — you can ask us to fix personal information that is wrong.
- Right to opt out of sale or sharing — you can tell us not to share your information for cross-context advertising. Visit Your Privacy Choices to do this.
- Right to non-discrimination — we will never treat you differently for exercising any of these rights.
To exercise the first three rights, email hello@buffalocoastmedia.com with “California privacy request” in the subject line. We will confirm your request within 10 days and answer within 45 days. We also honor opt-out preference signals such as the Global Privacy Control (GPC) where the law requires it.
Data retention
We keep personal data only as long as we need it for the purposes described here, or as the law requires.
Children
The Site is not intended for children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect their data.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will change the date at the top of this page.
